TL;DR

We're obsessed with privacy. Unlike other AI assistants, we don't keep your emails. Your emails live in your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.), not on our servers. Once Liam is done with a job, your conversation content is deleted. Gone. Poof.

What we remember: How you write ("Hi" vs "Dear"), your sign-off style ("Best" vs "Cheers"), your timezone, preferred language, useful stuff like your meeting links, and context like your professional role. Think: your assistant's notebook, not a spy file.

What we keep after jobs: Only metadata—who sent what to whom, message IDs. No message bodies, no content. Just the scaffolding.

Where your data lives: We use trusted infrastructure providers and industry-standard safeguards. We're CASA Tier 2 certified and independently audited by TAC Security, a third-party security and compliance firm.

Liam never spams: Your AI assistant Liam never sends emails on your behalf without your explicit request. You're always in control.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Liam (operated by Isa Usmanov, "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our AI Copilot service ("Service").

We are committed to transparency and data minimization.

3.1 Account Information

• Your email account and profile information (via secure OAuth)
• Authentication credentials protected with industry best practices

3.2 Email Data (Temporary Processing)

When Liam processes an email job, we temporarily access:

• Email thread content (subject, body, sender, recipients)
• Email metadata (timestamps, message IDs, labels)
• Conversation context for generating draft responses

Important: This content is deleted when the job completes. Only metadata (from/to addresses, message IDs) is retained for operational purposes.

3.3 Writing Style & Preferences

To personalize AI-generated drafts, we store your communication patterns:

• Greeting style (e.g., "Hi", "Dear", "Hey")
• Sign-off preferences (e.g., "Best regards", "Cheers", "Kind regards")
• Writing tone and formality level
• Email signature and formatting preferences
• Frequently used meeting links or calendar information
• Preferred language and likely timezone
• Perceived professional occupation and context to tailor messaging appropriately

3.4 Usage Data

• Service usage patterns and feature interactions
• Error logs and diagnostic information
• Performance metrics

4. How We Use Your Data

We process your data to:

• Provide the Service: Analyze emails, generate AI draft responses, manage labels
• Personalize AI outputs: Match your writing style and communication preferences
• Improve the Service: Identify bugs, optimize performance, develop new features
• Security & fraud prevention: Detect abuse and protect user accounts
• Legal compliance: Fulfill legal obligations under applicable law

We process your data to provide the Service, with your consent where required, and to operate, secure, and improve the product.

5. Data Deletion & Retention

5.1 Automatic Deletion

Email conversation content is automatically deleted when a job completes (i.e., when you send the draft or the task is marked done). We retain only:

• Metadata: sender/recipient addresses, message IDs, timestamps
• Job status and operational logs (without message bodies)

5.2 What We Keep Long-Term

• Your writing style preferences and communication patterns
• Account profile information (timezone, language, meeting links, professional context)
• Service performance and usage metrics

5.3 User-Requested Deletion

If you would like to access, export, or delete your data, please reach out to us at hey@doitliam.com. We're here to help and will respond to your request within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Data Storage & Security

6.1 Where Your Data Lives

We use secure infrastructure providers to store and process account data, service metadata, and operational logs.

Your email content remains in your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) at all times. We only process it temporarily during job execution.

6.2 Security Measures

• Encryption: All data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
• Authentication: Industry best practices for securing authentication credentials and private data
• Access controls: Role-based access, multi-factor authentication for admin accounts
• Security standards: Following Google Cloud and Supabase security best practices, working toward CASA (Cloud Application Security Assessment) compliance

No security system is 100% impenetrable. While we use industry best practices, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Third-Party Services

Liam integrates with third-party platforms. When you connect these accounts, their privacy policies also apply:

• Email providers (Gmail, Outlook, etc.): Subject to their respective privacy policies
• Communication platforms (Slack, Teams, etc.): Subject to their respective privacy policies
• Stripe (payments): Stripe Privacy Policy

Liam never sends emails on your behalf without your explicit request. We only create draft responses for your review. You are always in control of what gets sent.

We do not share your email content with third parties. Authentication credentials are used solely to access your connected accounts on your behalf to provide the Service.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Period.

We may share data only in these limited cases:

• Service providers: Google Cloud Platform, Stripe (payments)—under strict data processing agreements
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to prevent fraud/harm
• With your consent: If you explicitly authorize sharing

9. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on where you live, you may be able to:

• Access your data: We're happy to show you what data we hold about you
• Correct your data: Let us know if something's inaccurate or incomplete
• Delete your data: You can ask us to remove your information anytime
• Export your data: We'll provide your data in a portable format if you need it
• Limit how we use your data: You can ask us to restrict certain processing
• Disconnect your accounts: You can revoke access permissions at any time

We use minimal cookies for essential functionality:
